I am having great difficulty creating a seating chart,(deciding couples to put with other couples). My future SIL said to me 'No offense to you but I want to sit with my family' and My FIL only want to sit with there family. Is anyone having their parents and there future parents sitting together? I am beginning to feel like I am crazy and hurt that they don't want to sit with any of my family! The problem is both sides have odd numbers and we would have to pay $150 per extra table. Any Help

Re: Seating Chart/Family
Can you mix? I mean put some of FH's family with some of yours - example - put one of your siblings with their spouse with one of his siblings with their spouse & another member from your side with another member from your side? You have to do what you need to do - you cannot please everyone....in the end people will be fine & have a good time. They might meet new people & like them - that wouldn't be a tragedy.

Re: Seating Chart/Family
why do you have to pay extra for the tables?
My contract with Leonard's said that I would have tables of 10. Out of 16 tables, only 1 or 2 had 10 people. The rest had 7, 8, or 9 and they didn't charge me anything extra at all.
Can you call your hall and ask them?

DO NOT LISTEN TO OTHERS ON THIS SUBJECT!!! I don't mean to yell but too bad. To pay an extra 150 to sit for a few minutes during dinner with a certain person is sooo dumb and presumptious of them. Who actually sits at the table for any length of time?I have never cared what table I have sat at and always have a good time.

Re: Seating Chart/Family
the families usually sit with their respective families. They want to spend time with the guests that they invited.

Don't worry, it'll all work out. At least your family wants to sit with each other. Parts of FH family will not be in the same room together. We'll see how that works for the wedding! I agree with someone's post about mixing friends. Also, if you have more distant cousins/family from both sides that are similar ages maybe you can mix them. I bet all of us will have some potential seating problems. It comes with inviting 100 or so people to be in the same room. I wouldn't take it as an insult that the families want to stay together. It is a day of happiness for them and they want to celebrate it with the people closest to them. Good luck!

Re: Seating Chart/Family
I'm not doing 'sides' but I'm putting family members at tables and mixing the tables so that there is a my family table and his family table next to each other. That way they can still sit with their family who they feel most comfortable with but are sitting next to new member of the family at the next table. Did I just totally confuse you with that? because I confused myself!

Re: Seating Chart/Family
We had our parents sit with us as our table that saved a couple of headaches.
