Seating Charts
How did you all (or plan to) go about doing this? Is there a template somewhere? Not quite sure what I am supposed to do... TIA

Do you mean a seating chart instead of place cards? or your own seating chart for figuring out tables?
I am doing escort cards abut have been reading about people doing seating charts.. Is that in place of? I am just trying to figure out what's going on lol
Yea some people do it, it would be in place of the escort cards. It would be like a big sign with an alphabetical list of names (by last name), and next to it would be the table number. I'm not sure where you would buy this, I guess its a DIY thing? I've also seen seating 'trees' with tags hanging off of the branches. I personally like the escort cards the best because I think that the chart causes traffic as people look for their names.
lol A seating chart for the reception is a printed up list usually in some sort of decorative way...that tells people what table they are at. Or did you mean a template for figuring out where you should put people? lol now im confused too!! I'm doing place cards instead of a chart, because I'm paranoid about making last minute changes and not being able to change the chart! lol
OH I GET IT! Duh! Ok so I don't need that since I am doing escort cards. I suppose it would be nice to have a template where I could print and write where I am seating everyone just so I know where to put people.
your catering hall should also provide you with the layout of the room and tables. for our engagement party, our caterer gave us the room layout and table numbers, and we asked if we could change around the table numbers, which we were able to. they gave us guidelines of 8-10 people per table, and i basically took my RSVP list and arranged it into groups corresponding with the chart. :)
