Seating charts vs. seating cards???

If my hall provides seating cards then do I still need to make a seating chart to display? I'm confused as to how that works....

I knwo some brides are making the seating charts with each guests names on it, but is there a template (does any one have one they can send me) of where the tables are located with table numbers, but not names of guests? I'm so confused....

My hall provided cards but they were cheesy so we purchased seating cards. We wrote the names and table numbers on them, and then the hall needed a list of who was at each table in alpha order in case someone needed to know where to go, etc.

The hall had a template of the way their room was spread out and where tables went. I would ask them if they have this.
