Seating Kids/Babies at Reception

Seating Kids/Babies at Reception

Hi!
I'm working on my seating charts and I have 16 kids. I will seat them with parents, but do you think it's better to distribute them or concentrate them at certain tables?

I'm thinking of having a table with 4 highchairs, 3 kids under 12 and 7 parents. is that too many kids at one table? My tables are all 14 tops.

Also, should I put the babies closer to the door? My current floor plan has my side of the family(more kids) on the windows side further from the door, but next to doors that lead out to the balcony. I'm wondering if I should move my side of the family closer to the main door. Am I overthinking this? The ballroom is not that huge in the end...

I'm trying to figure it out! thanks

I would with that many kids put them all at the same table-at least the ones that are a little older and keep the younger ones with their parents. This way they kids kind of entertain themselves with each other but keep the parents tables close.

If that isnt an option I do not think 3 kids at a table is too much at all-the only thing is if 14 at a table is your max that will be tight with the high chairs-I would take that into consideration too. Our tables were 12 max and we only did 10 per and that was still a little tighter then I would have liked

As far as which side-I would keep the kids away from the balcony, just a fear of mine.

i dont think you are over thinking but dont let this over take everything else.

I would try to keep the kids and parents to as few tables as possible. I am having kids at my wedding too but only two are 4 and the rest are around 10ish. I have been to a wedding that the table next to us had screaming kids. That was horrible. JMO Good luck!
