I always thought that the bride and groom sat with their wedding party in one table with bride and room in the middle. But then someone said to me that the bride and groom sit with their families combind and the bridal party sits together with their dates.
We both don't want to sit with our families! Sorry but they all drive us nuts! Is is just possible we could find a way to just sit with the bridal party, the people choose to be there, not the ones we were forced to invite?

Re: seating question
We rather sit with our friends. My FH likes to be with a group of people at parties. We gotta figure this out. thanks though.

Re: seating question
Okay, that is a relief. I've never been to a wedding, so I go by what everyone tells me or the magizines. I heard this from his family and a magizine! Thank you

Re: seating question
My sister and her husband sat with my parents and his parents at her wedding. I just don't see that happening for me. I think the parents would like to sit with their contemporaries (their siblings, friends, out of town guests, etc.). There is plenty of time for togetherness at future gatherings whether they be formal or informal. do what makes you happy.

my brother chose to sit at the same table as his inlaws and our parents. the bridal party was dispersed around the room among other young tables.. choose whatever you feel is appropriate for you.

Re: seating question
We are doing a sweetheart table..which is just us at the front of the room, that way our bridal party can sit with our guests, and aour families can have thier own tables

Same here. I've NEVER heard of the bride and groom sitting at one big table with their families.

I have seen the bride and groom sit at the sweetheart table, the bridal party table as well as the couple sitting with their families... Honestly, do what you want...it will be your day!

Re: seating question
I've never heard of the bride and groom sitting with their families. The trend use to be to sit with your BP, but now most people sit alone at their own table. If you're doing a medieval wedding, maybe you should research how the weddings were set up. I think they had tables in the shape of a horseshoe and everyone sat around it.
