seating/escort cards

so i'm up to the part i was not looking forward to - the escort cards.

The hall gave me a bunch that I can write out or possibly do clear labels. I definitely did not want to hand write or pay someone to do it, so i thought i would go the label route. But now i'm realizing the sizing is hard to figure out.

So now i'm stuck! Someone suggested I get place cards from Staples or something and I can print them out on the computer. has anyone done this option? Is it easy?

I'm sure the staples option is super easy.

I don't know what your favors are but maybe this is an option. I'm doing candy apple favors so I'm putting a label sticker on the case with the person's name and table number. All the candy apples will be lined up when they walk in so they grab their favor and find their seat.

What a cute idea! Unfortunately, my favors are bulky and I have a whole table designated for them (they're umbrellas, random i know lol) But I've spoken to a couple of people who did the Staples thing and it wasn't too painful.

I bought escort cards from AC Moore in Glen Cove and did them myself - they came out beautiful! I definitely recommend it. I wasn't a fan of the ones from the hall and I didn't want to write them out.

I saw them in michaels the other day $5 for 50 cards and they're made for your printer. So much easier than writing them out and worth the small amount of money to save your sanity. Look for coupons on retailmenot.com too!

I bought these! super cheap with a Michael's coupon. I bought an extra pack for practice but my printer usually does anything. I'm going to have the table be very decorated so I went with the simple ivory classic cards.

Thanks girls - i went to Staples this morning to find some (not really near a Michael's or craft store since i work in the city and live in BK). They didn't have anything in stock, but i was able to order 2 packages to be delivered to my job (since i do SO much wedding related stuff here - shhhhh! LOL). I ordered plain white ones since nothing else really seemed to match my red/black/white theme. I think i can actually put a little graphic or something w/color so maybe it'll spice it up a bit. Will let you know how i make out!
