Secluded Honeymoons- very specific

Original post by jennelishal

FH and I are booking Bora Bora and Moorea for 2 weeks this Sunday, but the flight is 14 hours- 6 1/2 to Cali and 7 1/2 to Tahiti. I am a little leary and uneasy about the long flight but I will be taking Zanex, I always do. I am thinking it will be one of the times in my life I should sacrifice and go for it, regardless of how long it is.
My question, does anyone know of any other more secluded places that have private villas/bunglaows closer. Please no St. Lucia or Sandals. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just out of curiosity why no St Lucia?

I think its just too populated & touristy for what she was looking for.

My cruise goes there- seesm really nice though.

St. Lucia too populated? I don't think so. some parts are pretty secluded. This is where I wanted to stay if I went there!

I didn't find St Lucia to be too touristy or populated...but I went 5/6 years ago.

LOL - Yes, Hilfiger has a house on Mustique...

We had the same dilemma--and opted to go to Belize b/c the flight is alot shorter. We went for 2 weeks--5 days at Chaa Creek which is in the jungle (and is ABSOLUTELY amazing), and the rest of the time on Ambergis Caye at the Victoria House (the beach was beautiful!).

I have to say that it was an amazing experience--I have been many places, but nothing compares to Belize--

Please FM if you have any questions--My aunt owns a travel agency that specializes in trips to Belize.

There's a place in Acapulco, Mexico called Las Brisas. It's in the hills overlooking Acapulco Bay. You stay in your own little house with a plunge pool. They give you a jeep if you want to go out and explore. It's nice because you can stay there, secluded, or you can head into town for some excitement. And it is very affordable!

We just came back from The Caves in Jamaica. It is extremely private and the most romantic place. It was $600 a night. There were only 6 other people at there during the whole stay. Lots of celebrities go there because of the seclusion.

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions. I will be researching this weekend. St. Lucia was a no for us b/c my 2 girlfriends went there an their honeymoon- 1 Sandals, 1 Ladera, my brother went to the Jalousi (sp). They all loved St. lucia, but I want to go somehwere different. Due to their experiences, I will be going there in the future, they all said it was beautiful.
AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL SSSSOOOO MUCH. You all are so great!!

What about the Four Seasons in Nevis; or The St. Kitts Marriott; Blue Waters in Antigua; Round Hill in Jamaica; Calabash Hotel in Grenada; Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda (British Virgin Islands) ; Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados($$$$$); Palm Island (near St. Vincent)
