I used plain copy paper against the red cardstock to see how it compliments it...if I were to use the white paper I would use cardstock and it would be glued...lol..its obviously uneven..
Adding the V definitely helped. I would move 'Dinner Menu' down and maybe make it look different than the other headings. I would also center all of the text. Nice job.

Re: Second attempt...menus...
Millie, The third photo it looks centered to me. The menu is beautiful. I just would get rid of the line between the date and dinner menu. I think that would beautiful without the line. Otherwise everything is very beautiful.

Re: Second attempt...menus...
Millie, even though the pics are slanted, it does not look like the text is actually centered. Maybe the titles are, but not the desciptions of the items. I would center it all. Good job on them otherwise!!!
I think you should switch the colors around. Print the menu on the white and use the red as a border. It would be easier for guests to read. You need a space between the line and dinner menu. I love the addition of the V- I think that's classy.
Good luck hun! these things are so hard to do!

Re: Second attempt...menus...
can i suggest something, don't use glue to stick the papers together...When i made menu's for my e-party i learned that right away, it can bubble and also the paper on top ends up moving and doesn't stay in place that well, it just messes up the look.
My friend suggested i use permanent double sided tape, she had made invitations for her aunts bridal shower and did a great job and worked perfectly...Even when she tried to pull apart the top part to show me, you couldn't do it. This will keep the paper in place very well, not bubble, not slightly change the color of the paper which can happen, gives it a nice clean look

Looks good!!
for adhesives -- give this site a try -- not sure if you can get it in Michaels/A.C. Moor but Smashing Cards recommended it to put our inivtes together and it's been so easy to use the adhesive on a roller.
We used the Herma Permanent Dotto Adhesive -- bought the dispenser and a bunch of refills

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. The first thing that popped in my head when I heard the word 'glue' was glue stick...then I though..NOPE..big mistake! But thanks for the heads up

Re: Second attempt...menus...
I agree with some of the other girls about centering the text.
