second dress.

So after I purchased my gown my mom talked me into getting a second dress. My gown is a big ball down and although I LOVE it. It's huge and really heavy and I'm sort of little. So I've started to search for my second dress. I know exactly what I want I just can't find it.

Does anyone know any places that have a large selection of sparkly prom type short dresses, besides estelles.

My sister and I have only bought dresses at those small boutiques and I don't really want to ask my mom to spend over $500 on another dress.

I purchased my second dress from Betsey Johnson while I was at my bach. party in Vegas. Check it out!

PS- It looks way better on me than that skinny mini model. LOL!

Have you tried any department stores? Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Bloomies?

I agree with the destinations lines, they have some gorgeous dresses for destination weddings and almost every designer makes them.

I would check Lord and Taylor in Manhasset. They have some cute long and short dresses for under 300. I bought a black and white cocktail dress in Macys (junior section) for 55 dollars with the coupon a few weeks ago. I know I saw a bunch of all white dresses, too. Try David's Bridal. Their dresses are pretty inexpensive.

FYI- I was going to get this beautiful silk gown from Lord and Taylors for my second dress. Last minute, I decided against buying it. I am SO glad that I didn't. I would have been disappointed if I had to leave my reception to change into my second dress. You think you have so much time, but between talking to all of your guests, taking pictures, cutting the cake, all of the dances, eating dinner, etc....you really don't have much down time. You are not going to want to leave your guests to take your ballgown off and put your party dress on. My dress was a ballgown and surprisingly, it wasn't heavy. I was so comfortable in it all night and I only switched from heels to flats about 30 minutes before the reception was over! Just something to think about!

I had mine made. My dress was a ballgown too and trust me it gets VERY heavy by the end of the night. I'm soooooo happy I had a second dress to wear.
