I went for my first day of dress shopping and purchased a dress I thought looked great. I actually had tears when I had it on a one point. Now I'm home and second guessing it. My stomach is in knots.
Did anyone else feel this way? It's a beautiful Marisa dress.

Re: Second Guessing
I don't think this is uncommon. Think of what made you love it so much in the first place? Go back in a while and try it on again. I bet you'll remember why it was the only dress for you!

Re: Second Guessing
OMG I felt like that today when I finally got my dress in after waiting 5 mos for it. I am second guessing it b/c it has no beads. Its beautiful, very couture. But now I am missing out on crystals... We spent alot of money on the dress right. It will look fabulous ( : Stay Strong

Re: Second Guessing
yes, your normal ! I second guessed everything. there is so much to choose from out there you always think there's something better but even if there is you just have to think to youself that you made a decision for you & your wedding & even if something else might seem better there is a downside or it wouldn't be perfect either. Also you would never decide if you waited for the perfect dress, RH, ring, favors all that

Re: Second Guessing
I definitely second guessed my dress! I went back to the store that I purchased my dress from and began trying other dresses on, in addition to my original dress. I ended up staying with the first dress, it just looked the best on me. With soooo many beautiful dresses out there it is so hard to not second guess your choice!

Re: Second Guessing
I totally did. I remember posting about it a few months ago. I too bought mine the first day of really looking, Whenever I see someone post their beautiful gown on here I always think 'hmm did I make the right decision'. My mom convinced me at first that this was the dress, and I wasnt sure I believed it- so when it came in I tried it on, picked a veil and headpiece and all of a sudden I was like 'I LOVE MY DRESS'!!! Have no fear- I am sure you made the right decision!

Re: Second Guessing
Yea, I second guessed my first dress and then went back to the store 5 minutes later to cancel the order, heh. I am so glad I did b/c now I found the perfect dress!!! Someone said to think about why you love that dress. I suggest the same. Can you picture yourself walking down the aisle in it? B/c that's what sold me!

Has anyone else second guessed their dress?

I did a little too, especially since my mom didn't love it as much as I did.
During the dreaded 6 months I thought I was acutally shopping for another dress, in case I needed to replace it.
But when I finally got the dress 6 months later, I LOVED It even more!!
Trust yourself

Re: Second Guessing
I actually went back to the shop after I ordered it and tried to see if I could get my money back after I saw a picture of myself in the dress. I was so upset I couldn't sleep, I think I even cried that I made the wrong decision. My mom insisted that this is the one, but supported me when I wanted to change it. I decided to listen to her and stick with the dress. I went for my final fitting yesterday and it was gorgeous. I am soooo glad I listened to my mommy. The dress was made for me. Don't feel bad about it, trust yourself and keep in mind that its the girl that makes the dress, not the other way around. I was more relaxed and prepared when I went for the fitting (and 20 lbs lighter lol). I was glowing.

Re: Second Guessing
I didnt, but I know what you mean. I saw other dresses after I'd bought mine, and thought I liked them better...but every time I tried my dress on, I fell in love with it all over again. Since you had such a strong reaction the first time, I'm sure you will be fine.

Re: Second Guessing
fortunately i havent gone through this since it took me a long time 2 find my dress & i knew it was the one.
here is some advice that will get u through it, stop looking at dresses, whether it be online, or in stores. there is always going to be a dress that u like better out there, u just have to keep away from them. once u see your dress again once it is ordered u will fall in love with it all over again.

Re: Second Guessing
I'm going back today with my step-mom and FMIL to try on the dress again. I've been soooo drepressed every since I left the store thinking I acted too soon. my mom and sister who went with me when I bought it says they love it on me and it is the right dress. I guess my big problem is that it has the pickups and I never though I wanted such a poofy dress. I hope today will help.

Aww! I hope you love it when you put it on! I'm sure you will! Maybe, since you just ordered it, the shop will let you pick another dress if you're really unhappy? Good luck!

Re: Second Guessing
I actually bought 2 because of this and saw a nicer one and it was tempting but I know FH would kill me. I think it is just natural to feel that way, especially if you can't afford to buy the dress you really want.

Re: Second Guessing
Thank you all. I went back today and saw the dress waiting for me to try and and I looked at it compared to other dresses on display and and thought it looked really elegant.
I tried it on for my mother-in-law and step-mother and they loved it. My mother and sister helped me pick it out the day before and they loved it. So I am now happy with the dress.
A big piece of advice I can give from this. Sometimes it's not worth sneaking pics in the dressing room. The pics were so bad that I was so unhappy with the dress. I took new pics today and am very happy.
Thank you all so much for your support. Another plus for LIWeddings.com
