Re: second guessing

i kept looking at the one i put a deposit down on...and kept changing my mind about it...there was something i didnt like about it...i wanna say it was b/c it wasnt poofy enough or something...the dress i have now has more detailing..got it at another bridal place and it was cheaper!! but its the same designer and color.

go with your gut. Thankfully i was able to use my deposit i put down as store credit and used it to pay for my BM dress for my friends wedding.

edit for spelling errors

I think its normal to second guess a dress but you can't obsess over it...kwim? If you decide you HATE the dress thats one thing, but I am sure it is beutiful and you look stunning, there's no reason to second guess. If you really want to change and you haven't left the deposit, by all means, change it.

i have left a deposit already, and the other dress i like they dont care at that store so i will loose that $$

Thats a biggie to consider; I know personally I couldn't afford to lose $$$. See, once I ordered my dress I put everything else out of my head so I couldn't second guess or become distracted and change my mind a million times. I stopped looking, stopped wondering about other dresses, and any time I feel a twinge of regret or doubt, I look at my dress and I know its absolutely perfect and I love it and can't wait to wear it.

If all else fails, you could probably sell it but you may not get close to what you paid.

Good luck

Re: second guessing

I got a second dress for my RH because I felt that my first was too traditional and maybe I should go for tighter, etc...

I LOVE my second dress and was doubting my first

BUT THEN...

I had my second fitting of first and when they bought out my dress, I thought wow why did I get a second?

lol

I think we make ourselves nuts!

Re: second guessing

I second guessed mine after ordering...but it came in a week ago and I couldn't be happier, I am in love!!!!!! I think for me the second guessing wasn't directly related to my dress because I did/do love it. It was more that i kept seeing all of these other beautiful dresses and kept thinking what if one of these is the one...I feel like there are so many dresses out there that sometimes you cant help but feel like there might be something better out there....for me though my pick was definitely 'the one'! It is natural to have some reservations...your dress is a big deal!!!! If you are really unhappy then I say keep looking...if not maybe its just dress jitters! Good luck! I am sure any dress you end up with will be absolutely perfect!

Re: second guessing

I actually switched dresses about 6 months after ordering. I lost $250 but in my opinion it is worth the piece of mind. I kept looking at pics of the first dress and just wasn't crazy about it. I looove my new dress and am so happy I switched. Do what your gut is telling you. If you aren't going to be happy or comfortable in this dress than keep looking. This is too special of a day to settle.

This happened to me. I liked the dress I picked, but I felt like I should be saying more than 'Yeah, its pretty and I like it' considering I usually freak out about clothes in general...so I went and tried on like 20-30 more dresses and finally found one that I love...I wouldn't say that I ever got the 'this is THE one' feeling, but I do feel like I love this dress, and its very me and I don't have a feeling of 'I could do better' like I did with my original choice.

I lost a $100 deposit because I bought a sample gown from another store. My advice is to try on other gowns at the store you ordered from first so that you have a chance of transferring the deposit...but if you are not feeling it then DEFINITELY try on others!!!

Re: second guessing

they say not everyone gets that all warm and fuzzy 'its the one' feeling. But I think you should go and try on the one you ordered again, sometimes you just forget cause we don't get to see it again/try iton for so long. its your day, if you find something else and you have the $$$ to switch you should do what makes you happy!

i cancelled my first dress less than 24 hrs after i ordered. i still sometimes have doubts about my new dress even though its been a year and i know the dress is beautiful. i think its normal to have doubts.

Every now and then I think about the first two dresses I was torn between and wonder if I should have gone with one of those... but then I remember that I didn't get THE FEELING when I had those on and look at pics of me in my dress and I feel a lot better...

Has it been a while since you have seen/tried on your dress?? Maybe you should pay it a visit!!!

Hmmmm... maybe go try them both back on and see what happens. It shouldn't be too late to switch it at this point since it has been less than a month. Do you have pics of your dress and the one you are thinking you might want.

I cancelled my first dress after ordering it because i just didnt love it. I did however get the 'its the one!' feeling so don't always think that is right!

I ordered a second one and i liked it much better however in hindsight, i still never felt absolutely in love with my gown...just didnt happen for me..and that's ok...i felt comfortable and beautiful so I can't complain!

Meeeeeeeeeeeeee.....I bought a dress thursday and it haunted me for the next two days. I went to the store and got my dress yesterday...but the good thing is that I can say I have a reason. The first one was small and I bought it more because of the price but it was still beautiful but I kept thinking what if it doesn't fit me the right way the day.
