Is anyone going to a different location to take pictures before the reception?? I wanted to do this but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time...Is it worth it??? My ceremony starts at 11am , CH at 1...

We have a gap in between so we are going to go to a few places for photos

we are - just haven't settled on a location yet. We would like it to be someplace en-route to the RH so we don't have to drive out of the way for it. One day I am going to take a ride over to the RH and scout some places around there for pictures and if I don't find anything than we'll try for somewhere around the church.

This is just for the BP pics. Once we get to the RH we are going to take family pics there. We are going to try and coordinate an early shuttle from the hotel to take immediate family only over to the RH first for pictures.

It takes 20min to go from ceremony to venue... I should be done with the church by 11:45 (including receiving line) and could be at the RH by 12:05-12:10 (with lights included)

I was throwing the idea around since the wedding doesn't even start until 2:00pm. However Woodbury Country Club has so many nice areas to take pictures which is one of the reasons why we picked them. So i don't know yet.

Well isn't Giorgio's right near the beach? That's one of the best things about them is that they have every single picture opportunity you can think of.

so pretty much u have 30 to 45 minutes. I'd try to find a place really close between the church and the venue but u might be rushing since u don't have too much time. How about taking the pics at the venue, some venues have really nice rooms set to take pics, or if u really, really want to take pics in a different place, how about changing the ceremony for an earlier time?

I'm at the fox Hollow. I was thinking of just doing my pictures there and save time (and money) and actually get to enjoy the cocktail hour. If not, I might go to northport village, or something like it on the way...

Its tough because if I had it in the evening, I'd have the afternoon to do the pictures...what we do to save on costs...

i'm at Fox Hollow too we're doing pics before our ceremony (having an evening ceremony and nighttime wedding) we're thinking either Teddy Roosevelt Park or Sagamore hill neither are very far from Fox Hollow - I would google some places in Syosset, Oyster Bay and Woodbury - FH is from Oyster Bay there are so many gorgesous locations parks and bays and beaches that would make great photo ops

Right down the block from your RH is a place called circle park. Literally if you continue on I think the name of the block is East Shore Drive you will run into it at the end of the block. Its a lookout on the water that has a gazeebo and a little playground. Really pretty and a quick place to take pics. A ton of my friends who got married stopped by there to take pics and they came out really nice.
