SECRETS

Meroma beach in Rivera Maya.

Anyone ever been???????

Secrets vs. Excellence vs. Sandals??????

very stressed out right now. We are booked for Jamaica Mo-bay (sandals) but FH & I have been discussing that since we have both been to Jamaica how about trying Mexico since neither one of us has been there. We have done sandals before and we love it, but Secrets Meroma beach looks amazing and is much newer and we seemed to be getting a bit more than we would with the sandals room. Its a very hard time of the year to go away because of the winter break so everything is soo expensive Any advice???Our $400 is refundable if we choose to back out of Jamaica so we don't lose out on money.

Cant comment on Secrets, but I stayed at El Dorado Maroma in Riviera Maya and it was awesome- small hotel only about 70 rooms.

Re: SECRETS

We were originally planning on an Excellence Resort in Mexico (we havent booked our trip yet - and not going til August of this yr...3 months after the wedding)....my parents have been to two of them and LOVED the Excellence Resorts (and they are extremely picky when it comes to vacation). I don't mean to freak anyone out at all, but, Fh works in the military, and the DOO (US Department of Defense) highly advises against traveling to Mexico due to everything that is going on there (drug wars, kidnappings, etc). So - we are now thinking of going to the Excellence resort in DR. As I said - dont mean to freak anyone out who is already traveling to MX - but I thought I would share.

The beach was beautiful. You could walk for miles and not even see another person. All the rooms have jacuzzi tubs in them that are separate from the shower. The room we stayed in also had an infinity pool on the balcony and both an indoor and outdoor shower- it was awesome!
