See my UPDATE - Invitation wording - help needed so i can approve my proof

Ladies,

Which is the proper way:

Two thousand and seven

or

Two thousand seven

??????

I know a lot of people include the and, but I don't think thats correct b/c when you say the year you don't include the word and.

Also, which sounds better:

BRIDES PARENTS
and
GROOMS PARENTS
request the honour of your....
...of their children
BRIDES NAME
and
GROOMS NAME

or

BRIDES PARENTS
together with
GROOMS PARENTS
request the honour of your....
...of their children
BRIDES NAME
and
GROOMS NAME

Do you like the 'and' between parents names or 'together with' since there is an 'and' between our names?

Thoughts?

UPDATE:

I have decided to leave the 'and' between the parents names.

Also, I just spoke to the invitation lady and she said that including the 'and' in the name of the year is more formal and goes along better with the rest of the invitation wording. I am still debating if I should keep it as 'Two thousand and seven' or change it to 'Two thousand seven'.....MORE THOUGHTS PLEASE!!

The 'and' usually means that there is a decimal point, like ten dollars and fifty cents. But, to make the appearance of the invite look more uniform, you can put the and in there. I have seen it both ways.

I think for the year it's acceptable Two thousand and seven. I've looked at different wedding sites, for the same thing, and it's written that way. My sister in law recently got married, that's how her invitations read also.
As for the parent's wording...have you considered:
Bride's parents request the honour of your presence at the wedding of their daughter,
Bride's Name to
Groom's Name, son of
Groom's parents......?

I think that's formal and looks classic. But If I had to chose from your picks, then maybe the first.
Hope that helps.....Good luck!

I think this is the traditional wording when the brides parents are paying for the whole thing, so i cant use this b/c his parents are contributing some money.

You're not supposed to put 'and' between your names, as it means you're married already. I read that somewhere. You put 'to': bride to groom.

I would go for 'and' on both

i prefer no and with the year but do like the and with the parents names

The 'and' probably should be there if it's a formal invite. As far as the parents wording, either one would be fine.

I was wondering, have you considered:
Bride's name
and
Groom's Name...
together with their families,
request the honour of your presence.......

Don't worry about the date thing...the 'and' is supposed to be there. It's more formal.

Yes I have, but decided against it as we wanted our parents names on the invitations. Thank you for your response!
