We used LI Sound and has Chris as our MC, and were soo happy with them. We watched our video the other night and there was literally not one person sitting the entire night. they had the whole party up and dancing and we like the same genre of songs that you mentioned. i HIGHLY recommend them and can assure you that you will not be disappointed. we looked at a few dj's as well but found them to be the best for what we were looking for and were very happy that we used them. People said they were one of the best dj's they had seen at a wedding.

Here's my thing with MC's. Imo, depending on the size of your crowd a MC is def. needed. If it's a small intimate affair then the DJ can double as a MC to announce everything.
But if your looking for someone to really get the crowd up and maybe even some interaction then a MC is def necessary. It also depends on the company itself. I've seen parties with MC AND DJ where i've seen the MC once the entire night then he dissappeared.
