My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost three years & have been talking about getting engaged at the end of 2004. We are hoping to plan/save for the next 2 years so hopefully by 2006 we will be prepared. I must admit I have been enjoying all of your posts for months because just the IDEA of getting engaged and married is thrilling, and the wheels of ideas are already turning in my head as I read all of your great ideas. Until now I just READ the posts but today I had some free time and wanted to introduce myself and set up an account so i can include my comments from time to time. Im not a bride to be (YET) but hopefully that will soon change. i look fwd to chatting and sharing opinions with all of you!

Congrats and Welcome. I did the same thing. I wasn't quite engagged when I joined. It was the bestthing I ever did. When I came time to actually plan I had all my ideas written down, I did all of my research and I was ready to go. It's been so smooth for us. We even had our hall booked before so that we could start paying it off. By the time we were actually engagged our payments for the reception were already paid. We are all here to help Happy Planning

Good luck! I wasn't engaged either when I started participating on the boards. I figured it couldn't hurt getting a jump on things. The more time you have to plan, the better.

OK...I attended a bridal expo this weekend at the Uniondale Mariott which was great but found that the one thing that was missing were places to take pictures. Does anyone have any ideas? My reception is in Islandia so anywhere between East Rockaway and there is perfect.
