Sending Birth Announcements

I was just talking with DH about birth announcements and he said he had never heard of sending them until I mentioned it. That it is just not something his sisters ever did or that he has ever received from friends, etc. (He is from the Midwest...Indiana). So I asked him who he wanted to send them to...friends, family? He said when my friends have kids I usually just get an email...they aren't into that kind of stuff like sending announcements. So I don't want to go wasting money if his side is not expecting them anyway. But I know my family and friends all send and receive them.

So should I just go with a list of those that would be expecting them from my side and just send to DH immediate family as well? ALso, he has a huge family, so it is not like it would be 10 more announcements...more like 50.

I think DH family would love it if you sent an announcement with a picture! It'll be something new and different for them! And it gives them something to show off!

P.S. Walgreen's is having a 50% off announcements sale this week...my best friend used them and they were great!

I agree, even though it hasnt been done before, it will probably be very exciting for them. I would send them anyway.

My motto is that I do things the way I like them done. My husband's family never sends annoucements or even TY cards but I do. So they all got them anyway.
