sending international invites

i am sending a few invites internationally, one to australia, one to germany, do you know if this will cost extra postage than the regular 61 cent stamp?? also are you supposed to put anything on the RSVP envelope, i am assuming they use other stamps there... thanks!!

You will need special postage so I'd ask at the post office. I sent a save the date to canada and that required a special stamp. I never even thought about the stamp for return.

It will definitely cost extra. I had to send one to Russia and it was $2.00. Have the post office tell you. As for the RSVP, you can also ask the PO. But there are only certain ones that have the international postage available. I just sent it with the $0.44 forever stamp and called it a day.

yeah that's what I did with the rsvp too. my friend emailed me and he's like 'um... can't send back the rsvp with a US stamp but thanks !!!'

Def. take it to the post office...I sent invites to both those places and used three 44cent stamps on each.

I sent a few to Germany and Finland...I took them to the post office, I want to say it was around $1.20 each. However, it took over 4 weeks to arrive, I would recommend paying extra so they get it sooner.

I sent one to Beijing and it took about a month to get there! Which was fine since I sent it 3 months early, but still!

Don't put a stamp on the RSVP envelope -- it's a complete waste. If you happen to have postage from the other country, you can put that on, but if you don't, just leave it blank. The responder will know what to do.

theyll need to use their own stamps for the rsvp...

its prob more than 61 cents go to the post office and check, cuz my std's i sent to greece were 98 cents each and those were small and light

Yes, it will. I sent my Save the date to Jamaica and England and had to get special stamps and they cost more.

yes they cost more.. i think you can check on the usps.com how much it will cost you to send your invite... Poland was 98cents.. i would not put any stamp on the rsvp as each country has their own stamp.. maybe i would put a little note with the invite.. so they can email you to let you know if they are coming or not

Re: sending international invites

50% of my guest list is over seas so mine were $1.83. I put 3 of the cake ones on there.
as everyone said no need to put anything on RSVPs. usually the ppl just call me.
depending on where its going, it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks to get there

oh and make sure to weigh them at the PO, I 1st checked on their website and at work and it was lower than what the PO said, so its better to make sure ur sending w/the correct amnt on them (the regular rate for a letter is 98 cents btw)
