When is your response date and when are you sending out your invites in relation to your date?
My Date is 6/11 My Response Date is 5/11
I am thinking about sending out my invitations 3/11. My Mom thinks that is too soon. HELP!

Re: Sending out Invites?
I think you are fine with the date you're going to send out your invites. It's summer and people plan vacations ahead of time so I don't blame you for sending them out then. I dont think you should worry about it being too early at all.

I think it might be a tiny bit early. Even though its summer, kids aren't out of school yet . JMO My wedding is May 7, invites are going out March 7 and my response date is April 10.

Re: Sending out Invites?
i think it's too early. mail out the invites at most one month. and it should be at most maybe 3 weeks (may 21st) prior to the wedding date for ppl to respond. JMO.

Re: Sending out Invites?
wow- I guess I am the oddball! I wanted to send my invites early since many of my guests are coming from out of town and have to make flight arraingments (we didn't do save the dates). My date is 6/24 but I was thinking of sending them out in February.. I guess I should rethink that if this would be see as out of the ordinary...

Re: Sending out Invites?
I totally disagree with mailing them out 1 month or 3 weeks before. Everything I have ever read has said 6 to 8 weeks.
I am going to send them out early because we are very close to the holidays. Plus, the Fox Hollow Inn must be booked 1 month (December 7) before to reserve the event dicounted rate.
Our date is Jan 7 so I was thiking of the response date being Dec 1 and mailing them Oct 24.
Good luck

out of town guests or dates close to a holiday does not apply to my previous post. for OOT guests and holiday dates invites should be mailed about 3wks to one month in advance.

Re: Sending out Invites?
8-10 weeks is the norm. For 6/11 I'd probably send them out April 1st.

Re: Sending out Invites?
I am mailing mine out tomorrow (1/31/05), our wedding is April 30th and the response date is March 28th. I think you are fine. If you are like me, I need to give a final count 2 weeks prior. I also want to leave time for other people that I will invite if I get some no's.

I think you are fine too. My wedding is May 15 I am sending them out 12 weeks before. My response date is April 14th. The norm is 8 to 12 weeks before. Don't worry. Anyway I am so sick of everyone telling us what is correct Do it your way. Remember it is your wedding...............

Stress not my dear. My date is a wekk after yours and I haven't even picked out my invites yet! When I do, I plan on mailing them out March 27 (8 weeks before wedding), making the RSVP date April 27 (4 weeks before the wedding) and trying not to fret! happy planning!
