How far in advance is the appropriate amount of time to send out STD's? I don't want to send them out too early but then I also don't want to send them out too late either?

we are getting married on a holiday weekend so we are sending them about a year in advance. You prob dont have to do it that early . i would say a few months before the invites. maybe 6 months?

for holiday and destination weddings i say a year...Anything else about 8-10 months or even 6 months

well thats what they're for lol, holiday weekend weddings, destination weddings or if its close to another event or events. But they're real popular now and everyone just likes doing them lol

I heard that most people do send them out only when it's close to a holiday, but my friend sent his out for his wedding so I just thought most people do...lol

i need to send mine out super far in advance
some of our family members alternate being in ny or going away for thanksgiving...so i need to send out my stds before ppl make plans for this thanksgiving in case they need to swap their destinations. BUT i think im only sending it to family and the bridal party...not to parents friends or our friends in the area...ill save some extra for those ppl for when it gets closer to the wedding.
but if i didnt know about this potential issue...then i would wait like til like a yr before for holidays or if u have a lot of out of town guests

yeah seriously almost everyone does it now...Its like the thing to do and people thing you HAVE to but honestly its not really that necessary...so if someone wants to save money somewhere then this would be it.

I just stuffed and sealed them last night.. Sending them out on Saturday so they have a postmark date of March 17th ... i am doing a year in advance because its palm sunday ( its not a major holiday to most people but for some of my family members ), it is and also its a sunday night, some of our family members travel and its also a engagement notification since i never sent out e-announcements.
