September brides

I'm getting married on Sept. 28...is pink a weird wedding color for that time of the year? It's actually shades of darker to lighter pink...like this BM dress. I wanted to get married in the summer but the dates didn't work out with my hall....I went to a bridal salon to look at more BM dresses before I finalize things and the girl helping me said she doesn't think pink is a good color for that time of the year. I ddin't tell her but I already have things like ring pillows and baskets, etc in rosy mauve, pink, etc...but it made me feel bad. What do you guys think?

You're fortunate in that people are still in 'summer' mode in September. And September can be such an 'iffy' month. It could be 90 degrees or it can be 60. You just never know.

I could see if you were trying to pull off velvet in the summer, but the color pink can be used whenever you want. You can't pick a color you don't like just because of the season.
Did you see the new issue of Martha Stewart Magazine? They had a shower with a pink theme. Very cute - check it out!

I'm in agreement with CutieLipps. The fabric makes a big difference.

I could see the BM dress you picked being used for a winter white-pink theme!

The dress is pretty! I don't think it matters that you are using pink in Sept. It will work beautifully.

I think pink still works in september. I've even been to October weddings with pink bm dresses.

I am getting married on Sept 18, 2004. I decided and had my girls order their dresses already. I also added straps and a shawl for the BMs and just a shawl for my MOH (my sister). Here is the dress (it is in this color - Kiwi)

Any color is perfect - I know a bride who did baby blue and lilac in February! As long as you love it....

I think any color is okay any time of the year - it's the fabric that makes it or breaks it. For my wedding in August, my girls are wearing claret, a deep almost crimson color. But the flowers are light, bright, and summery, and the dresses are strapless satin, so it looks great even though the color is dark.
