Would you put your dress in one of those Vacuum Pack Seal bags?
My dress is 100% tulle so I feel like it might last through the 8 hour flight that way? I have to transport my dress from Italy to NY next month and am concerned the airline might not let me bring the dress as a carry on even though they told me if it is within measurement guidelines it can be let on. I haven't seen the finished product yet so I'm not sure just how big this garmet bag will be....
Would you put your dress in Vac Pack Bag???? FedEx insurance is more expensive then buying the dress it's own seat!!!

NOOOOOO do not do that!!!!! it will wrinkle(deep crease wrinkles) and never get back to its shape. A Garment bag will be fine. There is dress storage right in the front of the plane.

No way! I would not do this.
On my honeymoon, I saw many girls with wedding dresses, they just carried it on in the garment bag. I would call the airline if I were you and see if you can just carry it on. Get a plastic dress bag. I believe they have an area on the plane to hang garments.

OK thanks ladies! Alitalia said they would take the garmet bag and put it in the front closet but I'm having nightmares of them denying my dress and making me check it.
My father lives in Italy so wanted to be a part of my wedding in some way so wanted to get my dress....originally the thought of getting my dress with my father was so touching since we have a distant relationship....now I'm getting anxiety and popping xanax like M&M's......
I'm happy to hear you saw other girls who did this!

Everybody loves brides! I have seen flight attendants let your gown ride in first class even if you are in coach. I agree with the other girls though, DO NOT USE A VACUMN SEAL BAG!
