Seriously??

My mom has a lot of really bad, stressful stuff going on in her life right now.....so I know I have to be understanding that my wedding just can't be on her mind 24/7 like it is mine.

I have felt like she is less than excited, just because of everything that is going on....we kind of got into an argument about it but have since moved on and it's been fine....

However....I told her what train we're taking to the city Saturday and the plan for the day in general to go dress shopping and she asked that I 'remind her, because I've been forgetting a lot lately.'

Ummmmmm really? You'd forget your ownly daughter's 1st dress shopping date?? She told me she was really excited when I made the appointment, but hasn't said a word about it since....and now she's liable to forget about it. Sigh.

Mine couldnt come to MY FIRST try.. or the 2nd... She came til i got the dress...

I would be upset too! LIke that should be one her most exciting plans in her schedule!

awwww im really sorry! I know what you feel like...when i first got engaged, my mom totally didn't seem into the wedding planning (prob bc it was a million years away, we have an extremely long engagement) ... and i was really upset and hurt so I know what you're saying but like you said, your mom has a lot of stuff going on now, so that's why she said that. I'm sure she's really excited and can't wait to go, but life's other stressors are getting in the way of her being able to show her happiness

My mom was the same way for a while. I felt that every time I called she was rushing me off the phone in a way rather than talk about it.

She too had a lot going on. Her FH was laid off and she was supporting the both of them. They had just bought a new house together. Things were tough.

What I found out later was that she was sad. Sad that she wouldn't be able to buy and do the things that she always wanted to do for me because she didn't have the extra money to do it.

Now as the wedding gets closer and closer it's almost all she talks about. She threw me the most amazing shower. I never expected it.

She'll come around. Just try not to take it too hard. There may be something else completely going on.
