FH and I have serious issues going on with immediate family right now, I really don't need inane wedding drama compounding it. However, now:
*FH's ex is threatening to pick his kids up an hour into the reception because 'it's too late for them.'
*FH asked my closest male friend to be a GM. His fiance hates me, ostensibly mostly because we booked the same DJ for our weddings (her best friend, I honestly thought she'd be happy we went with him), and is making all kinds of threats to my friend about not going to our wedding and saying if he invites me to *theirs,* she'll call it off.
*And then, to top it all off, one of my BMs asked tonight if her six month old was invited to the reception. When I reminded her we had already talked about this (she had been happy to have a grown-up night out and leave the baby with her mother), she informed me she may have to leave at 9PM (an hour into the reception), because the baby has been fussy about going to bed for anybody but her. She asked if I would 'need her' past 9PM!
Is it just me? Am I going all Bridezilla without knowing it? Or is this all beyond ridiculous??

Seriously?!?!
You are not going Bridezilla. This sucks that everything is happening so close to the wedding. How is FH handling the ex situation?
Also, I would be just as angry about the bridesmaid's situation since you guys already discussed it. What did you tell her when she asked if you needed her past 9pm? I feel that sometimes people don't know how hurtful they can be and they just have to be told politely.

Is it your FH's day with his kids? If it's in his custody agreement, his ex shouldn't be able to pick the kids up.
Your friend's fiance sounds like a piece of work. She's the bridezilla - NOT you.
As for your BM, it sounds like she's getting separation anxiety; not the baby lol. My MOH has 4 kids (at the time of the wedding they will be 9, 5, 3, and 1 1/2) and is leaving all of them home with family. We had talked about it when I asked her to be my MOH, so it was understood. Has your BM been away from her baby yet? It could be causing her some anxiety - you may want to talk to her about it.

Wow!! That is some serious drama way close to the wedding.
How is FH handling the situation? He needs to talk to her, calmly and nicely, and remind her that they are his children too and it's just ONE night that she really needs to try to be more accommodating for.
The friend's fiance sounds like a jealous b*tch. LOL how do you even respond to that? just ignore her. she has issues. hopefully your friend is a good enough friend to not let it ruin your friendship.
As for your BM, I would be angry too. The best thing you could do is tell her that you would really love it if she could be there for the entire reception. Talk to her about how important it is to you and why she's so nervous about leaving her baby for just a few more hours. It's just one night, but maybe she's just nervous about it and needs to talk it out.
edited for a typo.

Seriously?!?!
There's something in the air. I'm having the same 'baby' issue with FH's neice who thinks our wedding is the opportunity to display the new baby. I asked FH to explain to her that it's 'no kids' and if this child comes, there will be others there who will be upset that their kids weren't invited.
As far as the ex wife is concerned, if FH can just remind her that you will not be replacing her as their mother... That she is still the first woman in their lives... maybe it will help. When it gets right down to it, if she chose to take it into the legal forum, any court will deem a wedding as special circumstances, especially a wedding where the childrens' extended family will be present.
The friend.... what the heck????
I understand though - my wedding is shortly after yours and it seems if there's any opportunity for drama - here it comes. (My FH's mother is deceased, so I asked future SIL for addresses for the invitations. She took it upon herself to ADD PEOPLE to the list!) ugh

Re: Seriously?!?!
Thank you everyone for your support.
Still dealing with the ex situation. Hopefully more news on that front soon.
My friend with the Bridezilla fiance texted me the next day to say she was 'better now.' It's just such a cyclical thing with her that it's only a question of when everything hits the fan again.
As for my BM, she messaged me later that night and apologized for being insensitive and causing me more stress (she knows about everything else going on). However, she still seems to think she'll leave around 9PM to put the baby down, but will return after... Round trip from Massapequa to Huntington and putting a fussy 8 month old to bed and that's going to be significantly less than three hours???
