Seriously behind the ball on shower - April 23rd too close?
My aunt was supposed to take care of shower arrangements and she totally dropped the ball so I akm trying to help out. My cousin is due at end of June and I am running out of options and time!
I found a place open for April 23 or June 5th.
Is April 23rd not enough time for me to get everyone's addresses, send invitations and hope people are still available? Is that date even doable in this short amount of time?
Also - this is the saturday before Passover - I am not Jewish so I don't know if this factors in - will people decline because of the holiday?
Other option - is June 5th wayyyyyy to close to her due date? She might be very uncomfortable and what is she goes early? Yikes!
Can you girls offer any advice/words of wisdom?

I think you;d be fine with June 5th, chances are if she is not having twins and has not other problems she may not go until the beginning of July. But just so you know, I recevied a baby shower invite yesterday for an April 10th shower.

I would go with the April 23rd date. I think June 5th is cutting it close. You could get the invitations out next week and have the RSVP date be the 16th of April.

I would do it 4/23 - I think june 5th is too close.
If you need invitations fast, I used www.storkavenue.com - I ordered them on Thursday, had them on Saturday and had them in the mail that Monday!

I would go with the 23rd as well. June 5th is cutting it close. I know after my shower, I exchanged a lot of things so having the x-tra time would be helpful. Plus, now at 39 weeks I am getting pretty uncomfortable so I am glad DH and I have everything done and organized at this point.

Sorry to butt in on this board but I wanted to give my thoughts about having the shower on the 23rd since you were looking for opinions. Jewish holidays start the night before - so although the 23rd is the day before the first day of Passover - the holiday starts that night with the first seder. Passover seder is a huge deal and takes a lot of work. I doubt anyone who is Jewish would attend a shower that afternoon - too much to do for the evening! We were trying to plan a GTG for the 04 brides and someone suggested that date and it was thrown out right away because of Passover seder being that night.
