seriously how did you choose your photographer?

seriously how did you choose your photographer?

If you didn not have a MUST have photographer-how did you choose yours??

I'm torn between two; one is only a difference of $100. She's shot SO many weddings where i want my pictures taken. The pictures on her blog are amazing.

The other is less $100; but has only shot a few weddings where i plan to take pictures. The pictures she takes though are amazing. I'm also considering her b/c she's got pictures of Stephanie March & Bobby Flay's wedding on her website so the fact that she was their photographer is a huge plus for me! And even a thank you letter from the two. She's even on Kleinfields vendor list so i know she's good!

Does it matter that much that someone has more experience in a particular venue??

go with your gut! it's clearly not about the $$, so pick who you feel more comfortable with. if you haven't already, i say meet with them both in person to make sure you 'mesh' well with them and decide from there.

I picked my photographer based on their personality and their pictures. I don't necessarily think more experience = better pictures. My photographer is still pretty unknown but i LOVED their personalities and their work.. we booked on the spot and are paying a fraction of the cost that most people are paying...

I think it's important to pick a photographer who knows the venue very well. They know the angles of the place, the lighting, the best photo spots, etc. They become experts at the venues. I would spend the extra $100 for someone who knows the place.

In order

1st - Style
2nd -Personality
3rd - Price

Which actually ended up with the cheapest one

It was automatic for us because we felt so comfortable with the photographer.

I would say go with your gut. The first photographer I met with I got a really good feeling from. FH didn't want to book beofre talking to others. We went to a bridal show, talked with some others & he looked at the books. He then said he liked that first photographer's work best. We are booked with them and can't wait.
