Does anyone know if RH's charge a service charge for vendor meals?
Thanks!

Mine does - it's a discounted rate. they will include the vendors in your final count if you are short.

Re: Service Charge for Vendor Meals
i think it depends on the hall. some RHs will charge a reduced rate for all vendors (as long as your minimum is met), and some RHs will let their house vendors eat for free. we used only one house vendor, but we still had to pay the reduced rate for them.

Mine will be full price until I hit my minimum, then it goes to half price.

Re: Service Charge for Vendor Meals
My RH is serving the vendors at a discounted rate. BUT then they are adding tax and gratuity (18%) to it. I understand the tax but I just was surprised that they are charging the gratuity- it's not as though the vendors are sitting at a table and being served. I was just curious if this is a standard thing. Thanks!

They may not be sitting at a table in the ballroom, but there does have to be a waiter/waitress to bring their food, drinks, etc. Its not like they are eating in the kitchen.
Some halls don't charge for their recommended vendors, and charge a discounted price for outside vendors (ours charged 1/2 price). It definitely varies based on which hall.

we were charged the 18% gratuity as well, but i expected that. i know most of my vendors ate in an adjoining room, and still had to order and be served their meal. i think it would be different if the actual vendor meals were different than the meals the guests were served, but if it's the same meals being offered and served, i can understand why there is a gratuity.
