Service to reception??? Any Eastbound PM commuters
My daughter is being married at St Pats Bay Shore at 4:30 pm on Friday July 1 (the Friday of 4th of July weekend. Her reception is at East Wind Wading River. What time should the reception start? I've heard anywhere from 2 to 3 hour commutes eastbound on a holiday weekend. I figured we could go down Sunrise Highway to William Floyd then east on 25A. If we start in Bay Shore at 5:30 can we make a 7:30 reception time? Thanks for your help.

I work in Hauppauge (Exit 55) and I used to live in Hampton Bays it took me around 50 minutes to an hour on the LIE then getting Sunrise at Exit 70.
I know live in North Selden and it takes me about 35-40 minutes to get home on the LIE from Exit 55 to 63.
I leave work at 5:00, the most traffic on the LIE is up to Exit 63 then it clears up.
HTH
Not sure about Sunrise.

Sunrise is defintely the better option as far as driving, especially since you are already on the South Shore.......
However, if you are having a mass for the ceremony I don't know if that leaves enough time (with mass ending at 6:30, pictures, receiving line, etc it could possibly be 7 by the time things wrap up there). If you are not havig a mass, there should be enough time.
