I feel like I may have to because my wedding is 6 months away and I have to order soon. I've been putting it off because I haven't found the 'ONE' dress. I'm beginning to think the 'ONE' doesn't exist.
Did anyone feel like they settled on their dress?

Re: Anyone 'settle' on a dress?
I know this might sound crazy- but have you tried looking at BM dresses? Sometimes youll find a BM dress that you like better than an actual brial gown, and can order it in white instead! And save a ton of $$!!!!
I dont know... call me crazy!

Re: Settling on the Dress
I do feel like I settled a bit. I knew I wanted to stay under $2000 so I didn't tempt myself by looking at dresses outside of my range. I knew I wanted something a little different but whenever I looked, nothing really knocked my socks off. When I saw my dress on a hanger I thought 'No way' but when they slipped it on me it was so comfortable and very flattering. I kind of did a double take and thought 'Hmmm.' My mom and sister agreed it was flattering but my mom kept complaining it was too plain. I looked at more dresses but ultimately decided comfort and looking slim were my best options. Am I 100% in love with my dress? Prob. not, but I figure I'll still look good, I didn't break the bank, and I do like the dress better than 99% of others I saw. So I told myself to get over it. It's about marrying my love, not about my dress. At least that's what I tell myself

WOW...that's EXACTLY how I feel about my dress...I was a little undewhelmed by it but it looked the best on me and fit in with what I always pictured and the tone we were setting for the day so I said what the heck...that and it was over $1000 less than the next closest option...and I had already been to 10+ stores and only had 6 months until me wedding day...it in the end it worked out amazingly

That is a very nice budget! You can definitely find something you like for that. What is your style? Big and puffy, or sleek and refined (or in the middle)?

Re: Settling on the Dress
What is your style? Maybe we can help. I don't want you settling because I know how I felt when I found my dress, but you are getting close. I would go crazy and start going dress shopping every night. Get a few bridal magazines from the library, and pick out some dresses-and bring the pics with you. It's crunch time.......GO, GO, GO.

Re: Settling on the Dress
You can definitely find a dress with that kind of budget...I am the pickiest person in the world and I never thought I was going to find the one and I did. Just go to a store and try on everything...thats what I did and I was able to figure out what I loved in a dress and what I hated so it helped find something that had everything that i loved. Good Luck, dont forget you can always put a rush order in for your dress to come in ASAP!

Re: Settling on the Dress
You have a pretty nice budget to work with.
Just curious, are you looking at dresses pretty close to your price range or have you looked at dresses way below your budget? The reason I ask is because perhaps what you like may be in lower spectrum of your budget. Perhaps within the $1000 - $2000 range you might be able to find the dress you love. Just a thought.......

I hope you don't just settle. I know you should be ordering your dress soon, but I hope you shop around a little bit more to try and find 'the one'. Good Luck!

Re: Settling on the Dress
I think looking for the one is a lil overrated. What happened with me is I knew what style I wanted and I knew what I was looking for. I never got a fairytale type feeling of this is the one. I knew by the reactions of my loved ones and The dress encompassed what i was looking for. The more I looked the more I loved and Now I absolutly love it. So I think The feeling of The one is just not happening for some people. But you should love the dress you should not settle on something you hate. What style are you looking for maybe is gals can help you find it!!!!

Re: Settling on the Dress
I absolutely settled and I wish I didn't! I had a lot of trouble finding the right dress and when I finally found one I was okay with, my bridal salon ordered it a size too small. They couldn't alter it properly so I ended up getting a refund and having one custom made. Well that didn't work out either b/c the bodice was not strong enough and didn't hold up my girls at all. Now I cringe at most of my wedding pictures because I have way too much boobage going on.
Please, please, please go to every salon you can think of and try to find the dress that makes you giddy - otherwise, you may settle and end up disliking the way you look in retrospect.
