My daughter is Jenna Victoria
If I had a boy it was going to be Matthew Robert.

I have an Italian last name..Scott's is pretty generic. But I think it doesn't matter in today's world. Chose a name you like...and who cares if it 'sounds Jewish'...that is actually a pretty anti-semetic thing to say anyway. What is wrong with a Jewish name?

Hint to all moms to be: DON'T discuss names with people you know. I refused to discuss ANY names after the first time I mentioned a boy's name I liked and my stepmother made a face and said, 'That name is...okay'....that was the first and LAST time I even discussed. When people would ask 'What are the names' I said, 'I want NO opionions so we don't discuss that with anyone'....that way no one could influence our decision.

My son is Aidan Brady XXX.

Other boy names considered were Brady (as first name), or Aidan Donal, or Aidan Patrick... yeah we were pretty much stuck in the same area!

If he was a girl or if we have a girl in the future, Kate, Erin or Molly. Erin is gradually moving into the lead Dh would like to use his middle name which is his mothers maiden for the next time (Curran) we'll see....

She didn't mean there was something 'wrong' with a Jewish name - we have plenty of interfaith marriages in DH's family. I think all she meant by it was that SHE didn't think it flowed right with our last name. But I wholehardely agree with you about keeping names quiet until the baby is born. People don't feel the need to keep their opinions to themselves as I've learned. I'm sure she'll be unhappy if we have a boy - because I plan on naming him EVAN!

Listen - you use whatever name you want for you child. The heck with people who say something 'sounds' a certain way. My SIL's last name is very Greek and if she has a girl, she is naming it Erin, which is very Irish. So what? Once there's a person attached to that name it's no longer just a name, it's an identity so whatever it 'sounds' like before doesnt matter, KWIM?

I love the name Brady, and I think you know why I would have considered it for my boy's first name, but DH wasn't too keen on it. It works perfect as Aidan's middle name.

We're naming him Cole Stephen -- DH liked Brody, I also like Chase and Spencer.

If he happens to be a girl - Morgan Grace or Sydney Kate are our choices.

WOW! I have a friend who is Italian and they named their son Evan Joseph. TRUST ME...it would be fine with an Italian last name.

I've thought about what names would flow with our last name but that wouldn't stop me from choosing a name I love.

I am not having a baby yet but when i do i have names picked out already.

I screwed up on the spelling of my older ones name but I say if he wants to change it let him. it was suppose to be Rosario. We have a very Italian last name and needed an R first name after my grandfather. DH didnt like Raphael. but it turns out that is my sons Jewish name

My daughter's name is Alyssa Joy . We also loved the name Isabella Grace. My son's name is Christopher Ryan . We almost named him Ryan Alexander.
