I'm having trouble deciding if I should buy these for my bridesmaids or not. My wedding is December 10th. It usually isn't BITTER cold this time of year but obviously it's not warm either. We don't plan on taking many pictures outside (Just a few formal pictures outside of the church and a few Candid and fun pictures outside of the Fox Hollow with all of the Christmas lights)....Most of the pictures will be taken inside. I have 9 bridesmaids so it's an additional expense I was hoping to avoid and I know for a fact my bridesmaids have a bunch of scarves and pashminas and I feel like buying them another one is a waste. I also don't want to be cruel though and make them Freeze for the short time we are outside. Also, does it matter that the shawls are a different material then the dresses?? Can you girls help me decide if I should buy these or not. A guy up the block from the hospital I work at in manhattan sells them for $5 each. I'm so confused...help!

Re: shawls/pashminas for december
my plan sounds pretty much like yours (taking most pics inside) but I decided to buy shawls for my BMs. I was in a wedding in early November and I was cold, so since I'm 12/2 I thought the girls would want them.

Re: shawls/pashminas for december
I got them for my BMs for my September wedding. They brought them with them to the reception and wore them since it was a little chilly in the room. I thought it was sweet. Maybe since you are buying so many you can get a better deal!

Re: shawls/pashminas for december
i just incorporated the expense into the gift i bought them
so i spent like $30 each on all my girls (i have 10) and so they got $25 jewelry for DOJ and a $6 pashmina

A friend of mine got married 12/12/09 and she got all her girls pashminas - it made for some cute pictures inside and outside.

We are date twins!
My mom made faux fur shawls for all of my girls. They came out really cute and I am glad we did it because they will make for great pictures. I don't think you need to worry about them getting cold... look into maybe getting shawls so that you can get some fun pictures!
