Lyla has been babbling consonants for about a month now. She started with baba, then dada, dadi, and then mama and gaga. The last couple of weeks we noticed that when she's upset and she wants me to hold her, she will look directly at me and say 'mamama'. I couldn't believe it, and didn't really know if she was associating the word with me. But she does it all the time now, and today when I was out and my parents were with her, they said after an hour or so, she started saying 'mama' and they knew she was looking for me!!
It seems early, she's just over 8 months now! It does make me feel great though!

What a great feeling! Annalise called me mama until about 2 weeks ago when she decided I am mommy. I love it, but there are certainly times I wish I could change my name.
