SHE GOT A LIVER!!!!! UPDATE!!

She is in surgery right now. Please keep saying those prayers. The surgery is 12 hours!!!

SOmeone I work with has a friend who went through this and she said it takes a very long time to recover from this. It took her about a year. But she is fine today.

I am expecting a call from my aunt any minute.

UPDATE:

She has about 4 hours left of surgery. Everything is going well so far. The doctors say the liver is perfect and in great condition.

We are very fortunate the have the surgeon that we have. He is famous. My aunt who is a nurse was telling me, that he operated on a toddler who had an inoperble tumor, he removed the child's organs and the tumor!! Then he gave the child all new organs!!

So we feel very lucky, that he was the surgeon on call!!

I just want to say thank you again for all your prayers and well wishes. It really means alot to me and my family. Every time, I read this post I get teary eyed.

I also heard it takes a long time to recover. Also you have to be on a strict diet and all. And not only that but if she got it from a living donor they also have a long recovery time. I know they can donate partial livers and they regenerate.

Please send prayers to the donors family, unfortunately, it was a 42 year old man who was in a motorcycle accident that is saving my cousin's life while losing his.

Prayers to your family and of course to the donor's family. This story reminded me to make sure I have 'organ donor' checked on the back of my driver's license!

What a blessing this man and his family are to you and yours.
