I just saw on the news that the woman from Florida who said that she 'recovered' a baby that was thrown from a moving car made it all up!!!! It was really her OWN baby!!
What is wrong with people????

I think this woman is probably limited.
She probably had the baby and was not able to care for it so this was her way of safely getting rid of it.... strange yes, but not really for someone mentally ill- she has been mandated for psych treatment.
It could have been worse, she could have really thrown him out of the car.

The whole thing is sick...thank God the baby wasn't really thrown from a car!
But my question is couldn;t the hospital tell that this baby didn't have the injuries that match being thrown from a car????

I thought the same thing in the pics i saw this morning he had an arm splint on, they could not tell this baby was not thrown from a car?
They said the woman had the baby in secret and didn't want it so she came up with this story. The sheriff though pointed out that they have laws that she could of brought it to a firehouse and no questions could be asked......
Sad but at least the baby was not thrownout of the car.

i am amazed when i heard about this - didn't she realize that with dna and all they would eventualoly figure it all out anyway?? the interesting thing is that if she had just brought the baby to a fire house or a hospital they would have taken it no questions asked! it is so sad, luckily the baby will now find a good home where people will love him and care for him!
eta: i know she wasn't necessarily in the state of mind to know abotu the law, it was an interesting point i read in an article that followed up on the story today in the paper
we can only hope that from this sotry, others will know there are places to turn to....

This woman is obviously mentally ill, but it's better that she made up the story than actually injuring the baby. She probably wasn't 'with it' enough or was too scared to just drop off the baby..or she may not have known about the safe haven laws.

I agree! it's much better than actually hurting the baby. She probbaly just did the best thing she knew how to do to get the baby a home. She figured people would feel bad for him and want to adopt him.,
