Shellac Manicure

Shellac Manicure

Not sure if anyone has tried it, but just wanted to share my review about Shellac manicures. I had one done last Friday to test it out for the wedding. I have been told it lasts at least two weeks. I have very weak nails that often split and peel, so my manicures never last more than 4 days. Well so far so good! My nails still look like they are freshly polished, and they actually feel very strong. I also love that within 2 minutes my nails were completely dry, so I didn't have to worry about messing them up.

If anyone is considering using this polish for the wedding, I highly recommend! I had the salon use the color 'Romantique' and it's perfect for a wedding choice (would also look good as a French, but I don't like French manicures, so I just got it plain).

I love Shellac brand! It is by far the easiest on your nails of the gel variety

Where did you go? I'm thinking of doing a Shellac manicure & pedicure for my wedding/honeymoon.

You know how acrylic nails look thicker than natural nails?

Does the shellac look like that, or does it go on thin like regular nail polish??

and does it damage you nails the way fake nails do?

thanks for the review!

Do you need to get fillings after the two week period?? Do you have to keep it up? Or can you get it once and then get regular polish the next time? and then go back?

It's not fill-ins because its your actual nails. All they do is put on a stronger type of nail polish. My nails are paper thin and break non-stop. I always have to get mine wrapped. I tried this and it worked great. It didn't last 2 wks bc my nails would grow and as they grew they got weaker and weaker and started breaking. Great for a wedding but would never hold up for the honeymoon for me. But, if you don't have that problem then try it! If I didn't want my nails breaking I prob would have had to go back 1 1/2 wks. Also, you soak to take the polish off- thats why no fill-ins. Every two weeks you start from scratch. It doesn't take any where near as long as wraps and it's sooooo nice that it doesn't chip and dries quick! I wish it worked for me!

where does everyone go to get shellac manicures?

I've had it done in NJ and MD and love it, but have to find a LI location for the wedding.

I think Nail Art in Northport has it

I went to Desert Salon and Spa in Westbury (it's within the Meadowbrook Pointe complex).

You don't need to have them filled and it doesn't look like accrylic at all. It's regular polish so the process is exactly the same as going for a regular manicure!

I don't think it ruins your nails, since it's just polish, but this is the first time I had it done so I can't say for sure

My nails grow really fast, so after a week I have to redo my nails...this would not be good for me

i Loooooovvvvee the color gel manicure!! i will never get any thing else ever again!

i got my nails done on tuesday then proceeded to clean the house top to bottom, including scrubbing the oven and washing all the patio furniture. NOT ONE PIECE chipped off! and it makes my nails stronger because they dont break either!!

I go to king and queen nails off gardiners ave in levittown, and its $20 (most places are $30)

the only thing i dont like is that you are resrticted to certain colors, but hopefully they will come up with some new ones soon
