Well I got the call last night-well kinda. My BM's and my mom's dresses came in ! It is amazing how such a small event can really make a bride smile-everday it feels like my wedding is more real!! I wish my dress was in but that will not occur till the first week in April-it's crazy I ordered mine 6 months before the girls ordered theirs and theirs came in first!! Well, anyway one of my girls lives in Louisiana and will get the alterations done there due to time constraints-does anyone have any suggestions or experience with shipping dresses? What should I package it in? I know definately get insurance. Any other suggestions?

Have you inquired with the store you are buying the dresses from. I have the same issue, 3 of my BM live in other states. My store stated that instead of having the dresses shipped to the store upon completion they will have it shipped to each of the ladies directly.

Talk to the vendor where you brought your dress. They are willing to ship the dresses for me for an additional 15 dollars. They will probably be the best to tell you how to ship it,.

I sent mine via UPS to Chicago and it arrived without a problem. My BM came to NY for my bachelorette party and brought back her dress (altered) so I could have it steamed so she doesn;t have to travel with it.
