I have 2 OOT BMs. I ordered all the BM dresses together from the same store and told these girls I would mail them their dresses so they could have them altered where they live.
Has anyone done this, and if so, how did you ship the dresses? They're wrapped in plastic right now and I'm nervous that if I ship them like that the boxes will be somewhere hot and it could melt and damage the dress. Any suggestions? TIA!

Re: Shipping BM dresses?
I have to ship two of my BM dresses too. I hadn't thought about the plastic, but when anything else ships to my house wrapped in plastic, it doesn't melt. I think they'll be fine. I have to send one to Florida and one to Chicago. They shouldn't be intransit more than a few days. I'm sending them out UPS.

I had 2 OOT BMs and I shipped their dresses priority mail through the post office. I also made sure to insure them. They received them in perfect condition.

Thanks! Did you insure them for their full value?

Re: Shipping BM dresses?
I would think that the plastic would be fine, that's probably how they were shipped to the store. If you're worried though you can probably wrap the gown in tissue paper, like you would a gift, and put the bag in the bottom of the box.

Re: Shipping BM dresses?
I have 2 girls that are out of town....one in Texas and the other in Kansas. Bridal Elegance is shipping the dresses to them. Hmmm, maybe tomorrow when I go there I should ask how they are being shipped and if they will be insured.

Re: Shipping BM dresses?
Dresses are shipped in plastic all the time (at least when I've ordered a dress from Vickies, Ann Taylor, or JCrew). That should not be a problem.
I would send them by FedEx, UPS, or insured/certified/return receipt Postal Mail. That way there is a record to track the package and there's a signature of whomever it was delivered to.
MAKE SURE that if you send it by the post office to insure it for it's full value. I believe FedEx automatically insures each package for up to $500 but you can add to that if it's a more expensive item (which I assume your dresses aren't), but double check that.

Re: Shipping BM dresses?
Thank you so much for bringing this question up cookie monster. I have to send my sisters Matron of Honor BM dress to her. I never thought about the packing and everything. Now, I will know what to ask and everything when I pick up the dress at the bridal shoppe.
