*Backround: My FH is only an inch and a half taller than me, so I had a hard time picking out shoes.(I'm 5-11)* I finally found a pair that werent so frumpy looking... (I have Big feet!!!!)... They came in and I go to the store to try them on... THEY DON'T FIT!!! So now I am in a sheer panic, my mother and the shoe lady tell me not to worry they will just order me another pair.... THEY DONT COME IN THE NEXT SIZE UP (with wide width too)!!!!! So I search through the books some more. I finally find a pair, but they're an inch and a half heel... I figure, tough I will make FH wear thicker soled shoes. Then, right before I walk out I have a thought. I go back to the shoe lady and ask if I can try it on with my dress. If I remember correctly my dress had just enough for a 1 inch heel. Sure enough, the seamstress comes out and tells me there's NO WAY I can pull off a taller heel, even by a half an inch. Now I feel all bummy... Are there any cute shoes for big footed people?!?!?!

have you tried Saugus Shoes? I have big/wide feet too & this is the shoe I went with. I went to MA to get mines so they were cheaper than they are in the salons here, but they had plenty to choose from for the big foot ladies. Good luck! Do a search on the net there are plenty out there to choose from.

Hi I have the same problem with height!! i just got my shoes, ai dont know where you live but i got mine froma place in queens called'Dying for you' on Steinway ST in Astoria. The shoe name is Gabriella.. they come in wide with, since i have fat feet, i needed th width too. They are really comfortable and cute.. MAybe you can look for the shoes by that name.. Hope this helps you!!!

Would it be possible to get a shoe repair place to shorten the heel? I know it can be done, just depends on the shoes.

also...just in case...did you already try on the shoes before? because when i tried mine on the first time they fit perfectly, but when they came in they were too small. it was just that my feet were swollen the second time from the heat and food i ate. when i brought them home and tried them on the next day, they were fine. i hope everything works out!

Yea you can do that with the shoe i posted i know you can, it depends on which way the heel lies .. but you can definelty do it@!@

I don't know where you went for your shoes but I used Casa Di Mario in Patchogue. They have a huge selection and I am sure they can accomidate you.
By the way I had my wedding at Sunset Harbor last Spetember and everyone raved about the food. So don't worry about them on your wedding day. Good luck!
