Shoe dying -

Shoe dying -

Day of shoes are driving me bonkers. My gown is ivory but I have this belt with silver-y accents that I'll wear during the reception so, I can't really wear a gold metallic shoe as I originally thought even though I think it would work well with the ivory dress. A silver shoe might be ok, but I haven't found one I really like or one that isn't a mirror-metallic, which IMO, is too flashy / loud for my dress.

SO, getting to the question - can I buy shoes, dye them ivory to match and then dye them again like black or a color? Can shoes be dyed twice? Real question - can Manolo Blahnik's d'Orsay pump be dyed twice? Is it a sin to subject a 700$ shoe to so much wear and tear?? Having major anxiety. Help.

yes i think so, my cousin got stuart weitzman shoes for her wedding dyed them ivory and then dyes them black afterwrds.... its fine if you dye them darker than originally

shoes can always be dyed black

Absolutely! You can always dye from a light color to a dark color, but you can't go back. So if you dye the ivory, you can definitely then do black, gray, red, navy, whatever. But once you go to black, that's it

my dress is very similar and i'm having the same problem. i was thinking an icy blue shoe but i don't even know if that's my style - just a good color for the dress.

let me know what you decide! maybe i'll do ivory to black too!

I got my shoes dyed at Sandy's Shoes in Massapequa, and she said the first dye-job is free...I assume from that statement that shoes can be dyed a few times.
