Shoe Nightmare (UPDATE)

Shoe Nightmare (UPDATE)

I spent a lot of time looking for the right shoes to go with my dress. I finally found the ones I really liked at a store in Mahattan. I brought a friend with me to see the shoes and ended up purchasing the shoes right on the spot. The store however did not have my size and assurred me that they were getting a delivery ( with my size shoes) in a week. This all transpired a month ago. I have been calling the store on a weekly basis hoping my shoes had come in. Today, FINALLY, i get a call from the store saying they got a shipment but my type of shoes were not included. The woman called the manufacturer who told her that they did not currently have the shoe nor did they know when they were going to get it in stock. It is now 2 weeks before my fitting and no shoes. She offerred to refund my money and wished me luck ordering them from another place.

My only saving grace is that the place I bought my dress also told me they had that brand of shoes. I called them right away and placed an order from them. They did not know if they could get my new order in on time ( they told me 2 weeks) but at least they have samples of my shoes to use for my first fitting.

I guess the last few months were just too easy. Let the stressful ones begin...

Re: Shoe Nightmare

dont worry it will be fine, all you would have to do is try on shoes with the same heel height.

Trust me it works out. I NEVER tried on shoes with my dress. First fitting i had a cast on and was on crutches, 2nd fitting still had a cast on. Last fitting i had no cast on and up until then i still wasnt able to arch my foot bc it hurt, i did ask to try on one pair quickly to see how i feel. IT was OK but i couldnt really walk. I said ill be fine by the wedding and told her to do it based on the heel height of the shoes i wanted.

It was a risk but i didnt buy my shoes until the day before the wedding lol and it was just perfect.

I agree you only need shoes with the same heel size for the fittings.

i didnt have my shoes for my first fitting.. and i just told them the heel height. they gave me a shoe with that heel to try on and my 2nd fitting with my actual shoes was pretty much perfect. It'll work out just fine!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry you had to deal with all that though!! it just adds to all the final stresses of planning a wedding

Re: Shoe Nightmare ( UPDATE)

I got a call from the 2nd place I ordered the shoes from. My shoes are now scheduled to arrive mid-november ( originally was 2 weeks, or around Nov 1st). This whole process is making me very nervous especially since the first place told me they didn't know if they would get them in anytime soon. I am wondering if I need a Plan 'B'. The bridal salon has the sample version of my shoes to use for my fitting.
