ok so i know this is sort of a weird question but i'm thinking of wearing ballerina shoes at my wedding (for the reception, at least).
i don't own a pair of ballerina shoes ... i'm not even a dancer!
it's kind of an inside joke in my family ... when i was about 8 or 9 years old, my told me she signed me up for ballet lessons and i, being a tom-boy back then, FREAKED OUT ... the extent to which i got mad is really funny though lol ... so now, we all laugh about it and i thought it would be cute.
so now the question ... does anyone know if ballet shoes would actually be comfortable enough to wear the entire night? Where can i buy them for cheap? Can i wear them and not ruin them? If my ceremony is outside, would i be able to wear them at the ceremony?
Thanks so much, girls

Re: shoe question (semi-weird)
Personally, I would buy ballerina flats instead of actual ballerina shoes. 1. They have no real sole and your foot and back is going to hurt you after awhile. 2. They are DEF going to be slippery in a RH 3. They are semi $ so your better spending the $ on shoes that can be worn again. 4. I wouldn't wear them outside... what happens if it rains? Then your gonna be screwed.

Re: shoe question (semi-weird)
ballet shoes are rather inexpensive. you can go to Capezio in the city or you can order on-line. the best way to explain ballet shoes, is to say that its similar to wearing socks. i danced for 20 years & i love ballet shoes. my cousins, who never danced a day in her life, borrowed mine for her wedding reception. she wore them the entire night & then i was able to wear them 2 weeks later for my show. they where still clean.
they don't provide much cushioing, so it would be pretty close to walking around barefoot.... i would look for something similar but with a little cushion! you are gonna be on your feet ALOT!!!

Re: shoe question (semi-weird)
i did ballet for YEARS and my brother's wife wore ballet slippers (real ones) at her wedding for the reception. She was actually pretty comfortable but its a personal thing! I agree that ballet flats can be comfy too but what I like about real ballet slippers is that they are so soft and moveable they mold to your feet right away!

as long as you are not thinking of pointe shoes, i think you should be fine.

Re: shoe question (semi-weird)
i think theyd actually be really uncomfortable.. theres no support whatsoever itll feel like your barefoot the whole night... i would get ballet flats instead since these has some structure, also FYI anything with a small heel will be much more comfortable than anything totally flat

One of my coworkers is also doing this because of the height issue. (She is also an RH twin!) I think she ordered super comfy ones from isotoner! These maybe?

Ballet shoes have ZERO support in them. They'd be great for a while, but eventually your feet will hurt from being flat-footed the whole time.
