Shoe-Repair Question...

OK, so before I schlep around to various shoe-repair places, only for them to tell me I'm whacked...has anyone ever had a shoe like this fixed - so that the back elastic is tighter? I fell in love with this shoe - after having to return *another* pair I had fallen in love with - but it's a 1/2 size too big.

If you did have a shoe fixed - where did you go? Name, number, location?? Thank you!!
