Is everyone having their BM shoes dyed to match their dress
I am not sure what to do about this I dont want them to waste extra money for shoes they wont wear again, and their dress is in Lilac I was thinking of silver with silver jewelry what to you guys think
I am letting them wear whatever shoes they want so if they want to they can and if they dont want to spend the money, thats fine too.

Re: Shoes
since your dress is a light shade i think the silver would look nice with it. i think it just depends on the dress and color. my girls are wearing navy so i'm having them pick what ever shoes but asked that they get them dyed

Re: Shoes
i feel the same way, i was just going to tell them to wear black open toed shoes, since everyone has those (i have lavender BM dresses) and my mom and FMIL will not shut up about how they NEED to have silver or lavender shoes, so i gave in. some places will let you dye the shoes black after your event, so at least there is a chance that they can wear them again.

Re: Shoes
don't mean to offend anyone, but dyed shoes to match the dress always just seemed kind of overkill and 1987 to me. I don't think that EVERYTHING needs to be the same color. JMO.
For my sisters weddng, we wore wine colored dresses, and silver strappy sandals - it looked great!

Re: Shoes
thanks everyone, I think if their dresses were navy or wine I would def have them dyed but since its such a light color (lilac) I found these open toe strappy sandal with satin straps to tie at the ankle from dsw and I thought would look nice but my mom says why not have them match the dress it would look better

Re: Shoes
My girls wore a pewter color and I told them thaey could wear any shoe, that was a silver/gray.
My mom and mil were not to happy with the decision and I said, too bad. I'm not making them buy $60 or more dyeable shoes that they are never going to wear again.
BTW: They all looked great!

Re: Shoes
My girls dresses are euro wine and I may just have them wear black shoes. I dont want them to pay $$ for shoes they will not be able to wear again.

Re: Shoes
I am having my girls wear euro red and having them wear black shoes. If the girls dresses are a light enough lavendar then you should have no problem with a silver shoes esspecially since you are having a summer wedding. If you have doubts about the silver buy a cheap pair of silver shoes from payless just to put them near the lavendar and let they girls decide if they like it or hate it. Some may want to match. Let them make the call since it is their money anyway.
