Shoes

Shoes

So my FH wants the guys to wear either Vans or Cons at the reception but thinks that if the guys are wearing them the girls should also wear them. I am not sure if the girls in my wedding party would feel comfortable wearing sneakers to dance in. I also am worried about what it would look like in pictures. I think that the guys would look good but not sure about the girls. I know if I ask my wedding party they will do whatever I want so I cant ask them for help. What do you think?

Personally, I think the sneaker thing is cool in pictures, not in actuality.

I definitely agree that its a lot more acceptable for the guys (and looks cooler) than for the girls.

If I were in someone's wedding party and they wanted me to wear sneakers, I wouldn't be in love with the idea, but would (like your BP) do what the bride asked.

I say let FH have his guys do it, and you keep your girls in shoes...nothing wrong with that.

I think that is what I am going to do!

I might buy a pair for myself for cute pictures and you wont be able to see them under my dress anyway. My FH doesn't understand why girls wouldn't want to wear sneakers if everyone always complains about their feet hurting and then they go barefoot. I just don't think it will look good with the dress. It is also extra money to spend when they wont wear them again like the guys will.

Converse maybe depends on the dresses. Short and spunky dresses would look cute with chucks. Definitely no to vans. They too chunky of a sneaker to be cute. I don't see why the guys can't do sneaks and the girls do flip flops.

First of all if I was to have my BP wear chuck's I would buy them the cute custom ones not make them buy them. That bring said...why wouldn't the girls wear them again? I know if it was FH and I in a bridal party his converse would go to waste where mine would be worn a lot! I west chuck's all the time!

I personally am all for the sneakers - on guys and girls. I told DH it was totally up to him weather or not he wanted to do sneakers for the guys. He wound up going with regular shoes but that didn't stop me from wearing my yellow converse for the reception:

Also, my BM/cousin made some custom sneakers for the wedding and she was dancing away in them all night!

I think the reception is supposed to be a more playful land fun atmosphere where you can party! I think it would look fine or both the girls and guys. But if the girls don't feel comfy then just let the guys wear them and the girls wear shoes.
