shoes i didn't buy and my DIY card box... almost done!
so first the shoes.
input?
dorothy's shoes were closed toes and these obviously don't have sequins. but... they were comfy and the right color pretty much.
and then the cardox.
these things are such a pain in the a$$.
none of the boxes are glued together yet so if it looks wobbly then that's why. the flowers aren't glued on... i just happened to have them laying around and threw them on there to see what they'd look like.
which colors look good with them? bad? should i not do flowers at all? just do bows and ribbon? etc.
also, i'm going to glue a panel of the fabric inside the green box so you can't see the cardboard
so how does it look? if it looks crappy please tell me ... i have plenty of time to tell FH to fix my lame work.

OK honestly, I am not loving the fabric on the top box. I really like the other bc they are close to the same pattern. The top one is just clashing for me a little

I think any of those options can work. It's the leafy pattern that is throwing it off for me not the colors. They are perfect

okay aside from the leafy pattern... is it okay? does it look like a 4 year old did it?

I like the flowers! I would just say when you glue it tighten up the fabric and it should be fine

I would change the color of the flower by the black paper. I'd make it ivory or white to tie in the color from the top box.

Actually, I might change the paper on the top box to black and green. Since your using patterned paper i'd leave it at 2 flowers.

okay.
but i mean... i know the fabric doesn't sit perfectly flat. i am like the world's worst present wrapper so this was a big challenge for me.
but i figured using the flowers or whatever could cover up the pieces on the sides were the fabric looks slightly bunchy.
thx guys.
and barb, i might take you up on that.

I'm also not 100% feeling the pattern on the top box. What if you made that one solid black?
As for the flowers, I like the hydrangenacannotspellit ones...maybe one on the bottom tier and one on the second-to-top tier.
Maybe something to outline the card slot?
Other than that, yeah just tighten up the wrapping a bit and you're good to go.

I actually really like all the boxes... if you can clean up the edges and smooth the material out... i think it would look much better... i love the flowers too

Other than the top box (I don't think the pattern goes) it looks really nice!!! I like the flowers too. Maybe just put something around the opening to make it look smooth.

okay. i'll fix the card slot. change the material on the top box and look into some white flowers.
i dont think i can smooth that bottom box down anymore. it was hard and i almost stomped on the box when it was becoming really annoying.
i will cover that one corner with the flower. you'll hardly be able to see it.
WHAT ABOUT THE SHOES? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

The shoes look really cute! I like them. They're grown-up Dorothy.
