I have a friend looking to get married this summer, probably July-September. Do RH's give good discounts for short dates? and.. WHAT exactly is a short date?? 6 months?

Anything under a year.....tell them go for it!! Also, they should look for the important vendors right away.

I definatly think 6 months qualifies as a short date. The closer you are to the month, the less money your friend will probably pay. She may have to be open to different days of the week/times, especially since July-September is a popular time for weddings.

Yes - FH and I were quoted half-price for the Crescent Beach Club for this May 2009! I think it was $95 dollars for a Saturday night, and it is regularly $185, according to the woman we met with. Great deals and lots of leverage!!

i have a friend who did this on purpose and waited till 3 months b4 and got a great deal at the riviera..if she can do it all in a short matter of time go for it she will get a great deal

if you are willing to plan everything in short notice then i say go for it, because most likely the RH's will be begging you to take the date just to get rid of it...

I could never.. I think she's crazy but they decided suddenly that they want to get married next summer.. I told her i'd help her out as long as she doesn't have it on July 25th!!! lol

She should just start calling around for places now. Last month a lady I work withs daughter booked the East Wind for June of 09 and got a great deal because they had nothing booked for that month as of yet...

I had a cousin who booked her Rh and all of her vendors within 8 weeks in Conn., she got amazing deals. Over 1/2 off the RH and a lot of vendors also gave her amazing deals. Wish I would have done this but I am too nervous of a person.

I've always heard that you can get a great deal from an RH when your wedding date is short notice. Tell her to definitely try it.

My cousin booked 6 months before and paid HALF what she would have PP....if you can do this its a great way to save money
