Any short girls wearing poofy gowns?? Before I bought my dress, people told me to stay away from poofy. But I fell in love!! I'm 5'2 in heels :)

Im 5'2 with out heels. I too wanted princess poofy style. I found they made me look 'bigger' than I really am. BUT- I ended up doing poofy but with a drop waist! Got the best of both worlds!!

I'm 5'0' in flats. I probably wouldn't consider my dress 'poufy' because its not my style, but it definitely has a fuller skirt than I originally wanted (I had envisioned a sleek mermaid). Like the previous poster said it has a drop waist so it evens me out a little. Pics in my album if you want a point of reference.

I'm 5'1' and I found the opposite to be true- the drop waists didn't fall properly on me so my only options were a-line and ballgown. All the drop waists were at my knees! I looked like a little kid playing dress up.
Lau1007- I just looked at your pics and clearly the drop waist didn't have the same effect on you- you look gorgeous!!!!

I'm 5'1' & my dress is poofy. It's fitted and then poofs, so maybe that's why the dress agreed with my body? haha I dunno!

Im 5'3 in flats and have a big ball gown (also wasnt what I expected) but I dont think it has a negative effect being short and poofy. Pics also in album

Aw, thanks so much! I guess its about how your body is proportioned. I'm also wearing shoes with about 4' heels, which is probably what I'll be wearing for the wedding.

I'm 5'0, I have a poofy gown. I have 1 inch heels. I look great, if I do say so. When they cut the dress, it looks the same as if you were a tall girl in a poofy dress.
I'm 4'10' and I'm wearing a big dress. Pics are in my album. I'll be doing a hollow to hem and I'll probably be in 1-inch heels or flats.
My original plan was to wear 5inch heels since FH is 6'6' but I won't be in them all night so I figure why bother.

I'm 5'2 without heels as well and my gown is the definition of poof!! I bought a little 2 inch heel for the wedding day and i cannot wait!! for me, it doesn't make me look shorter!

I'm 5'3' without heels. My dress was more of a fit & flare. Tight on top & it was poofy on the bottom. I say go for what you like & what fits your body type best...if it's poofy, then so be it!
