I registered for this Royal Stafford pattern that I absolutely love - but i was thinking, at $40 a place setting, it is kind of expensive and with all the other stuff on my registry am i likely to get it? I was going to change it to this plain white squoval (square-oval) dish that i saw and really like and it is like $40 for the whole set!!
the pic is of the one i am currently registered for
Tough. I would change it, but my FH would say 'if you love it leave it, who knows someone may buy it for you'...so I dont know.

Re: Shoud I change my China?
Are these the only dishes you registered for? If so then I'd keep them. FH and I chose Mikasa dishes that are like $50 a place setting. But we didn't get regular china, that why we chose dishes that were a little more expensive.

Is that for your formal China? If so, $40 is not bad at all and if you love it stick with it.
If no one gets it for you, you can always buy it down the line yourself.

nope i also registered for my formal china (lenox)
If that is your every day stuff and it's $50 a setting, I would maybe pick a different one.
Then again, it all depends on what people want to spend.

I had the same mind set you did when I registered and FH made me realize, that you only get married once (we hope...lol) and that if you keep things in different prices ranges on your registry it gives everyone an option. If you LOVE IT, LEAVE IT. Worst case scenario, you can buy it after you are married. Good Luck

Re: Shoud I change my China?
I picked the same formal china - the Opal Innocence.
I picked out Villeroy and Boch for my everyday china. I know its expensive - but the two previous plates I picked got discontinued - and I absolutely LOVE this one. My mom wants to KILL me, but I dont care. I know I will be careful with it, and its really thick - so It's harder to chip.
I say keep it.. if you truly love it, you will be cautious with it.

Keep it if that is what you love! Isn't it from BBB? There are always those 20% off coupons!!

Honeslty, $40 is a good price point for people. You'd be surprised how many people will buy two sets each for a shower. Thats not a bad price at all.
For our e party;....all of our everyday dishes were bought and no china. If you love it, stick with it girl!

Re: Shoud I change my China?
I think they're very pretty. My MOH registered for those plates or ones that look identical to it at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's a 20 piece set for like $99, but she's using those as her everyday plates. My china is $109 a place setting, so $40 isn't expensive.
For formal china-$40 is not bad at all. Ours cost $60 a place setting and my brother's and FSIL's costs $150 a place setting!!!

I'm going to register for Villeroy and Boch everyday too! This is the one I'm in love with?
Okay so I can't get the pictures to load but it's called Twist Alea and it's a mix and match set that comes in white yellow and green.
ETA: I think you should register for what you really want and love!

Re: Shoud I change my China?
Are these your everyday dishes? If so, $40.00 is not that bad... mine was $25.00 something a place setting and I got all of them. My fine china was GULP.... $114.00 a place setting and I got 8 of them! People will surprise you with their generosity... if you really like them, I say keep them!
$40.00 a place setting is not a lot in my opinion,

If you love it keep it. I wouldn't change it. My china is more than 50 a place setting.
