Should BM dresses compliment my wedding dress?

The fueding has started. I say the BM dresses should compliment my dress. I want a BM dress that is either strapless and round shaped or spagetti staps with a round shape. My BM says its whatever they want to wear and shes leanin towards a dress that has a tank or v neck. This is the top of my dress. What do you think?

I think it would look nice if their dresses complimented yours, but not a necessity.

I think the dress should just compliment you dress in it's formality. For example, if you are wearing a slip dress, the BM dress should not be formal ball gowns! I think the styles should compliment each other but the design can be completely different.

First, it is your wedding so it is not their choice if that is how you feel

i told my BM i wanted a train and strapless for them..2 of my BM picked out my dress (but i had in mind what i wanted)
i think it looks better when they compliment your dress...JMO (just the matching neckline is nice)

I just made sure that their dresses had sleeves only because I like sleeves. It really didn't have anything to do with the fact that my dress has sleeves but it does look nice together.

My preference is that my BM's dresses complement my wedding dress, as well. My dress is similar to yours on top. The BM's dresses (once we find them) will either be strapless or spaghetti straps.

The fabric will be different, though. My gown is silk satin and, so far, I haven't seen satin BM's dresses that I like.

As for length, I am having a formal wedding and the BM's dresses will be floor length.

It's just a matter of preference, though.
