My girls are wearing ruby dresses and I want blackmagic roses for their bouquets. My friend thinks it may 'blend in' and that the flowers should be white! What do you think? ANy pics of these color combos would be VERY helpful!

Re: Should flowers contrast with dresses?
I don't think the blackmagic will blend in, add some texture in. I think it would look fanstastic..Are the BM wanting white?
I wouldn't do white for BM
sorry no pics though

Re: Should flowers contrast with dresses?
IMO if you want to use the black magic, then I think that you should mix it with those and like a lighter color, maybe white or even cream. If you don't want them to be too bright. My colors are champagne and wine. My MOH is wearing wine and her flowers are mostly cream w/wine accents. The BM's are wearing champagne and their flowers are going to be mostly wine with few cream accents. Hope it helps. Godd luck

Re: Should flowers contrast with dresses?
funny, i've been thinking this except for the bride's bouquet. I like how brides look in pictures with red bouquets yet I love white bouquets, i'm just afraid a white bouquet won't look like anything against my dress. so this is kind of the same question but for bridesmaids! I think the black magic roses will look beautiful in person. the white would really stand out in pics though (as would any other color). i think in the end it's just a matter of your preference. i thought i could find some pics of bridesmaids with black magic roses but i couldn't. i do have this link though and there are some pics of bridesmaids in red dresses with white roses (to give you an idea). I agree- I am having champagne with deep burgundy roses with some cream accents . . . I think you should do the same- or more light than dark, but I would add some contrast.

Re: Should flowers contrast with dresses?
I had red...not black magic, but I didn't want the MOH (no BM's) to be white. So, I had the MOH ivory with red for a little contrast.
when i tried on my dress i held red flowers, and i didn't like the way it looked....i felt like all i saw were the flowers, that is what my eye is immediately drawn to. i then noticed that when i see pictures of brides or BMs holding contrasting flowers, it is the first thing that i see. i tend to like a monochromatic look, but there should be some texture. i am having white roses with stephanotis and pearls, and my girls are having red roses with berries.

i like the black magic roses but i would mix them with ivory colored flowers or a lighter shade of pink just to break the colors up a bit. i had deep purple velvet dresses and used dark purple flowers for the girls but mixed it with lavender

The red & whit elookis ver popular. I personanly don't liek stark contrast ( HATE my B & W bathroom tiles!)
MY girls are probably wearign cranberry. I thikn they're boughquets are going to be int eh oranges & burgendy. I don't want it to contrast, or to blend it, I want it to compliment, which is harder to do that it sounds.
If the ruby color is lighter thant the Black magic, I think it might look nice, but you might want to add in another color, but I wouldn't do ivory or white, maybe a dark pink?

If your girls are wearing ruby I agree with your friend that they will blend, especially in the pictures. I would make it a mixture and add some other (lighter)colors and even textures.
